do we need this article? edit

The content of this article is a word for word repeat of content from the main Polygamy article. If there is nothing more to say why is it here? Gjxj (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:22, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Laws relating to polygamy edit

Am I mistaken? Or does this article make reference to no current or historical laws relating to the legality of multi-person marriages in the US? It seems like this article should contain that information prominently. 2601:1C0:6E00:A280:CD20:EBC9:D86A:57AB (talk) 17:29, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

First amendment edit

The first amendment states that "congress shall make no law...". So how is it that a court ruled that religious freedom cannot be claimed as a defense when breaking the law? How could a law concerning religious practices come to exist in the first place??? 98.156.185.48 (talk) 08:33, 6 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

explanation of COI banner edit

One of my paid student editors here in the BYU Library who interested in law. She created Anti-polygamy legislation in the United States, which was merged with this page. Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 21:42, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bias in "History" Section edit

By my reading, the history section extends far into opinion and away from fact. It makes claims about the moral importance of slavery and cites many sources defending the practice without reason. If nothing else, these sections are needlessly lengthy and irrelevant. Dazzap (talk) 03:39, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
