Too critical and poorly documented edit

The criticism of LISREL seems very POV (Point of View) and poorly documented. Why cite some graduate student's webpage when professional journals in statistics, psychometrics, etc. regularly run product comparisons?

The tone is too critical. LISREL 8's main reference was cited by Google Scholar about 6 thousand times the last time I checked and LISREL gets over 300 thousands hits on Google, which suggests that the venerable code of Jöreskog and Sörbom still meets some users's needs, even though other structural equation modeling packages have appeared since the 1980s.

The historical importance of LISREL is not mentioned, although it was the first and most-used package for at least a decade. I prefer not to make these corrections, myself, however. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 17:15, 8 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
