I've moved the page back to "LEDA 074886" following User:John Belushi's move, for a couple of reasons. I may be wrong of course, but it appears to me that most media coverage about this galaxy are using the "LEDA 074886" name. As a matter of fact, I may have missed it but I have yet to see the PGC name in the literature anywhere. Additionally, the Subaru Telescope team that is publishing their findings about this observation are referring to it as LEDA 074886, which seems to be the most authoritative source (currently) available to me (barring the IAU saying something about using a different name, or some such thing). It's probably a good idea to mention "PGC 74886" in the article body (which is what I'm going to do immediately after this), and to have a redirect from that title to here, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to move the article to that title. Some information about the names themselves, and why they are different and important, may be helpful to add here.

The PGC name does not show up at SIMBAD or NED. 70.24.244.198 (talk) 13:01, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
LEDA - "LEDA (Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database)= (CPG) = (P) = PGC" and "NOTE: Extension of PGC catalogue in the Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database.

1989: Catalogue of principal galaxies, 1ST edition: N=73197. The first designation was PGC, but PGC and LEDA are now equivalent." - John Belushi (talk) 18:27, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
