Anamorava Valley of BincesKosovo Pomoravlje – As I understand, this article is about the region in Kosovo. That region is in the valley of the river called Binačka Morava. In Serbian language, the name of this region is "Kosovsko Pomoravlje" (literally "Morava area of Kosovo"). In Albanian, the name is (according to this article) "Lugina e Anamoraves Binçes" (literally "Valley of Binačka Morava"). We need the most WP:COMMONly used name in English. Previously, this region gave its name to a district. The title of the Wikipedia article about the district is "Kosovo Pomoravlje District". So, I propose this article be moved to the title of "Kosovo Pomoravlje". That way, it should be consistent with the title of the district. Current title is very bad: it is a mixture of Albanian words (Anamorava, Binces) and English words (Valley, of), and is not used in any sources. Google English language search returns just a few hits for the current title [1]. On the other hand, it returns much more hits for the proposed title even when the word "district" is ruled out [2]. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 20:18, 18 June 2015 (UTC) Vanjagenije (talk) 11:05, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • @Khestwol: "Anamorava" is just Albanian name for river Morava, so "Anamorava Valley" would be the same thing as "Morava Valley", and we already have that article. This article is not about the whole Morava Valley, but only about the part of it that is in Kosovo. Vanjagenije (talk) 22:47, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Lead section edit

@Rrjedha: What are you doing? Why do you keep inserting this into the lead section? It is already explained in the lead section where the region is located. Why do you think it should be explained twice? Also, you keep insetting "Morava is the region". Morava is not a region, but a river. What is the meaning of those edits? That user does not speak English sufficiently, and seems to machine translate his edits. See this and this.--Zoupan 12:10, 26 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

That's why I introduced this sentence according to section ... because already explained in the main section where the limit morava (Anamorava) as the region that is and that is included as the Morava river valley to be explained is why twice? Also, insetting "Morava Valley is the region". Morava Valley is a region, but described by a river.--Rrjedha 17:02, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

@Rrjedha: U;m having difficulties following you. The lead already says that the region is "around the Binačka Morava river." Why do you insist to have it twice in the lead? Buy the way, you inserted (twice) this text: "Morava is the region", and now you claim that it was "Morava Valley is the region". But it is already said in the first sentence that "Kosovo Pomoravlje is a valley located in Kosovo". Why having the information twice? Vanjagenije (talk) 18:02, 26 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Move and Name Change edit

The "Kosovo Pomoravlje" was before 1999, when Kosovo was freed from Serb conqueror, the name changed to "Anamorava"

Fatcs:

You mean, when Kosovo was stolen by Albanian conquerors? This is historical article, and should not be renamed ever, as it is article about former district, that is de facto still in power. --Ąnαșταη (ταlκ) 10:55, 20 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Title edit

The article should be called "Kosovo Morava Valley" (or "Kosovan Morava Valley") ... "Kosovo Pomoravlje" it should be a redirect, similar examples:

Agreed, this seems reasonable. Another possible title that would feel a little more natural in English would be "Morava Valley (Kosovo)". Of the suggestions proposed by SrpskiAnonimac, I prefer "Kosovan Morava Valley".Rosguill (talk) 21:47, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Rosguill: On English Wikipedia is used "Kosovo", not "Kosovan". Examples: Kosovo War, Kosovo District, Kosovo Vilayet

I would argue that there is a distinction between English usage in the contexts you mentioned versus this article. Geographic features that cross borders generally use the adjectival form, such as Serbian Carpathians and the French Alps. It's not uncommon for wars in to use noun-forms in English, such as the Iraq War and the Vietnam War. Similarly, administrative divisions of local governments like San Diego County or Mexico City strictly use the noun form. Because the Morava Valley is not solely in Kosovo, the adjectival form is appropriate.Rosguill (talk) 22:40, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Rosguill: Then let it be so, "Kosovan Morava Valley" --SrpskiAnonimac (talk) 23:14, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

I rearranged article Pomoravlje (disambiguation) --SrpskiAnonimac (talk) 16:20, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
