"An oil pipeline in Alaska" edit

Clicking on this article more or less at random, I find the following text:

He moved to Alaska to work for his father on an oil pipeline for one summer...

Any chance that this unnamed pipeline is the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, or that this work had anything to do with the construction of said pipeline? If being vague is simply a matter of being reflective of vague sources, I can understand, but considering that this event practically dominated life in Alaska throughout most of the 1970s, it shouldn't be that hard to pinpoint. I mean, we know that Mel McDaniel spent roughly two years playing at the King's X bar in Anchorage during this same period, so details could quite possibly be available here, too. Awards section edit

Greetings Wikipedians! I deleted several statements because:

  • Some were unsupported by citations. Normally I'd just add [citation needed] and let them stand as written. But some of these statements are promotional. They sound like they were written by Brooks' public relations firm. While appropriate for a news release or fan website, they border on violating Wikipedia's "Neutral Point of View" pillar (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Five_pillars).
  • Others are about awards made to Brooks & Dunn the duo. Seems to me they belong in that article. This article is about Kix Brooks the individual and solo artist.

I have no objection to putting statements of fact about Brooks himself (not the duo) back in the article, if someone can present citations that show they are based on reliable sources (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources) and re-writes them to make them more neutral.
