But what is a kit after all? It seems like a dummy question but as a non-native English speaker I came to Wikipedia from time to time to understand the exact difference between a certain word and its translated counterpart in my language (some generic words have many specific translations and the reverse are also true), so I come here today to see if a kit really mean a bunch of stuff put together with a purpose (that is different of a bunch of stuff just put together) and I couldn't find an article explaining what is a kit, then I went on for pack and no article whatsoever, nor package. Can we have these articles please? -- contact: dandireto [in] bol [dot] com [dot] br —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.95.147.216 (talk) 13:21, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree 'Kit' as a collection can refer to any sports, not just rugby and football, and is also applied to any collection of things for a purpose outside of sport...Im surprised that kit as a collection doesn't have a page. 86.147.191.102 (talk) 13:59, 30 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
There's no mention of the dictionary definition, "a set of articles or equipment needed for a specific purpose", which opens up other kits, such as first-aid kit. Kortoso (talk) 17:20, 5 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
