Levels edit

This article is using the term "level" in a way that is not consistent with how the game uses the word "level". What this article calls a "world" is actually called a "level" in the game. "level" and "stage" would probably be more appropriate than "world" and "level". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.72.174.41 (talk) 00:21, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup? edit

Why? It just looks like an underdeveloped article to me. --gakon5 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:53, 17 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

It being underdeveloped makes it look poor. -- A Link to the Past 00:38, August 18, 2005 (UTC)

Acquired Abilities and Wikis edit

I think that the abilities should be descriptions instead of wikilinks. Several go directly to disambig pages instead of articles themselves, and while the needle attack may resemble sewing needles... I don't believe that the wiki itself accurately describes it. The wikis can be used in the description, but shouldn't be the only thing there. ie "Needle - Kirby's needle attack looks like a bunch of sewing needles flying from Kirby to the target"

Any thoughts? --Syrthiss 18:27, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ugh, sorry, no. Whenever the GCotW is applied to an article, it gains these huge freakin' lists. - A Link to the Past (talk) 18:32, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

There, User:Larsinio handled it. Made it a paragraph instead of a big list. :) --Syrthiss 18:50, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Things edit

Umm, I did something for the worlds but I think it could be better-ed. Also any ideas for what might be some good screenshots or if one screen shot is sufficient woould appreciated. Oh yeah, does anyone know the intent behind the innovations section? I've left it blank so far. rydia 07:47, 4 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Well, generally the Innovations would be what entirely new aspects of gameplay were introduced with this title. I think that it was added as a general boilerplate for videogames so people could have a common style, but obviously if we don't have anything to fill it we can toss it. --Syrthiss 12:05, 4 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
There are innovations such as the assortment of mini games, and random stuff like the museum to gain powers, these details should be inlcuded --larsinio 15:19, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
The ability to steal powers originated here. - A Link to the Past (talk) 20:32, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Good pick edit

Good pick for a collaboration, this article is certainly bare. I'll try to work on it. KingTT 15:08, 5 October 2005 (UTC)==Plot==Reply

we should include details about the overarching plot of the game, and how it builds upon Kirby's Dreamland --larsinio 15:19, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Concerning the move list edit

Is the move list completely appropriate? I think the list in itself is fine (although it's getting to be kind of large), but isn't outlining how the moves are performed going against WP:NOT? -- gakon5 (talk)

Agreed. I think it'd look better as a simple paragraph or two (e.g. Super Mario 64)... even though I'm actually the one who expanded it. KingTT 22:37, 8 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
I could turn it into a paragraph if no one objects to it; it would make the article look better anyway. -- gakon5 (talk)
Oh, whoops, I went ahead and did so. If anyone objects to why that section should be a list instead of a parapgraph, do say so. In addition to the move list, I went ahead and sort of rearranged the article. I think it looks better than it did before; it was basically a process of putting some sections under others (the main ones now being Story, Gameplay, In-Game Areas, Trivia, and External Links), in an effort to better organise the article. -- gakon5 (talk)

Change 'Final Stage' to 'Fountain of Dreams' edit

I think that in the list of in-game levels, the Final Stage should say Fountain of Dreams. In the game, at World 8, it says Fountain of Dreams as the name of the world. Should this be changed? -- Dasune 06:37, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Abilities edit

I noticed the abilities when invoking the Roulette actually cycle through in a specific order. Thus from any mix it is theoretically possible to select any ability provided someone's timing is perfect. I've updated the article with this info. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.179.63.230 (talkcontribs) .

romanji edit

Added the romanji in italics for the Japanese name [星のカービィ夢の泉の物語]. I figured some people who cant read Japanese might want to be able to actually read the original name ;)

p.s. i'm new with editing, if i botched it i hope someone fixes it for me, thanks

Slowdown edit

This game had a lot of slowdown throughout the game. I think this should be referenced in the article.

Not a whole lot, just with the Spark ability, but that seems to be intentional. I haven't played the Wii version, maybe that's different. 208.101.136.228 15:02, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Glitch edit

There's information about a World 1-2 glitch to see HAL but I've never heard of it and can't find any information on how to get it. Clarification?

When you get to the Warpstar go back till it just disappears offscreen then slowly make your way back to the Warpstar (might take a few tries) if the Warpstar is not there you can walk past where you normally would and see HAL made of star blocks. 24.11.82.215 (talk) 02:22, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Release Dates are Incorrect edit

Kirby's Adventure was NOT released in 1992 (Kirby's Dream Land was released in 1992 instead), it was released in 1993. The US, EU, and JP release dates are incorrect.

Nintendo Power Issue 48 (May 1993) lists a release date of May 1993. This is an official Nintendo publication, so it's pretty authoritative. 24.161.111.232 (talk) 02:09, 26 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Any other chips in the cartridge other than ROM and MMC3? edit

OK, so, I ended up at this article via the "Sega Virtua Processor" part of the Genesis article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Mega_Drive#Sega_Virtua_Processor), where it states that Kirby's Adventure had an "additional chip" to allow "enhanced tile switching".

Is that just a rather strange and overspecific way of nodding towards the MMC3 (which I presume can *bank*-switch, more rapidly and simply than previous MMCs...?), or are they referring to something else? 193.63.174.211 (talk) 13:06, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

First appearance meta knight edit

If my understanding is correct, this is Meta Knight's first game. Is that right? Should probably be mentioned somewhere in development right? I mentioned in legacy that he went on to bigger things in Smash Bros. TarkusABtalk 04:57, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, this is his first game so I'll mention that. Believe it or not he's never actually referred to by name in this game or its manuals—I think Kirby Super Star Kirby's Avalanche was the first game that named him. JOEBRO64 15:47, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I’ll take a look Courcelles (talk) 21:11, 25 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • ”The game consists of 41 levels across seven worlds”. Don’t use two number formats in a single sentence. Both are numerals or both are written out.
  • ”Nintendo Power thought the game was more difficult than the cuteness may lead gamers to believe.” seems at odds with the prior sentence?
    • OK I think I fixed it. The exact quote from NP is "The theme may be younger than the challenge." which they marked as a negative point. I interpreted this as the game being a fair challenge, but misleadingly marketed to young children, but that isn't necessarily the case. TarkusABtalk 00:42, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

High quality article, well done. Courcelles (talk) 21:24, 25 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Courcelles: I think Tarkus and I have resolved everything. Responded above. JOEBRO64 10:38, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Everything looks good now, promoting. Courcelles (talk) 17:04, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hardware edit

"Because the NES hardware was more powerful than the Game Boy and programmers were skilled with the now antiquated hardware,"

Uhm, that sentence is incorrect since the Gameboy has both more clockspeed and more RAM. The only advantage the NES has is in terms of colours.89.14.45.60 (talk) 14:38, 2 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Australia edit

Australia has September 26, 2003 instead of January 27, 2004, it should be January 27, 2004 Benjaminkirsc (talk) 12:39, 5 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Developer Channel edit

FYI- Masahiro Sakurai started a YouTube Channel about game development: https://www.youtube.com/c/sora_sakurai_en

He's done about one Kirby's Adventure already and has briefly mentioned it in another (links at the top of the talk page in the Reference Suggestions box). This would be a good resource to expand the development section of the page. Happy editing. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:04, 12 September 2022 (UTC))Reply
