Splitting of article edit

@ Ajf773 and Toviemaix - I appreciate the WP:BOLD by Toviemaix, but I feel that the split of the article is not an improvement. The two separate articles are now both quite short - with the Kingston bus stations one especially so. There was a discussion about connecting the two Stratford bus station articles for this reason. The two pages have a poor connection to each other - when the two bus stations need the context of the connections between them and the railway station. Furthermore, the infobox for Fairfield bus station and the 'list of bus stations in London' at the bottom of the page have been removed, details regarding buses using Fairfield bus stations has been removed, and the links to and from various pages are now broken. I personally feel that having both bus stations in the same article is cleaner, especially when colloquial use of the term "kingston bus station" refers to either station. In fact, given that I see Ajf773 reverted the creation for Fairfield bus station due to "Not evidence of notability to support its own article" - I propose reverting the article back to be one article for both bus stations. Turini2 (talk) 10:41, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Reading WP:SPLITTING - If an article becomes too large, or a section of an article has a length that is out of proportion to the rest of the article - I've been bold and reverted back to one merged article. I'm also not sure if two/three standalone bus station articles would be notable, whereas one is. Turini2 (talk) 11:15, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) If it hasn't already then I support Turini2's proposal
Toviemaix, Please read WP:Notability and WP:Reliable sources before wading in with your size 12s thinking you know best..... you don't and that very clearly shows. –Davey2010Talk 11:17, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Davey2010 for your not so thinly veiled personal attack. Despite bring resolute that Cleckheaton bus station lacked notability, after the AfD you initiated, the result was a clear keep. Yet you couldn't accept it so tried to have the decision overturned. And nobody bought it. Clearly after 10+ years you still don't know best either. So any advice you give, I will have to take with a pinch of salt. Toviemaix (talk) 23:40, 7 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
That's the only AFD I've disagreed with in the 8 odd years of being here so that alone would speak volumes, I did what DRV was designed to be used for..... I'm not sat here splitting articles and fucking everything up am I?. Well done tho on finally learning how to reply. –Davey2010Talk 00:26, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Infoboxes edit

User @Turini2: has reverted my edits regarding the infoboxes for reasons Please seek consensus before your edits - 1) MOS:IMGSYN image formatting 2) bus stations have infoboxes, as per nearly all the articles relating to them in London e.g. Hammersmith bus station or Stratford bus station. I removed these because this article is not about an individual bus station, it is about all bus stations in Kingston. Articles have one infobox each, and do not have individual ones for each separate entry. If each station was notable enough to have their own article, such as Hammersmith or Stratford, then infoboxes would be sufficient. We've decided that neither Cromwell nor Fairfield are notable enough for their own article. Also the directory of bus routes servicing each station is not needed. Thanks for bringing this to talk - I agree that one page should cover both stations and the historical ones. I would argue however that this article is about an individual bus station - two of them! An infobox provides useful extra context, as I'm sure you're aware. Hence using them for each station, under a heading for each one. It looks like they could be combined WP:IEmbed? Might give that a go later.
With regard to bus routes - the vast majority of other bus stations articles I'm aware of have a similar low level of detail of routes in the text or in an infobox (i.e. the bus routes that serve the station, without destinations/frequency/operators/price of a ticket etc), as well as some vague general text about where the buses go 'Anywherevilles and nearby cities' or whatever. Providing context about the station and it's prominence (or lack of!) without being a travel guide. Off the top of my head some examples Union Station Bus Terminal, Vauxhall bus station or Woodlands Bus Interchange. Turini2 (talk) 10:24, 5 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Interestingly, now that I've read MOS:INFOBOX there's very few hard and fast rules at all (seek consensus etc), instead it seems to be guidance throughout! I'll query the multiple infoboxes point (and how to merge the two!) Turini2 (talk) 10:54, 5 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've asked at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Infoboxes and we'll see what comes back :) Turini2 (talk) 10:58, 5 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
There's a 2019 talk thread about the two infoboxes point that may be worth a read - Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Infoboxes/Archive_15#Multiple_boxes_per_page Turini2 (talk) 11:04, 5 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
There is nothing wrong with multiple infoboxes in an article when appopriate. List of Playboy Playmates of 2003 is an example. If the article rightly covers multiple things it certainly can have multiple infoboxes. It's uncommon because most articles cover one person/stations/building, etc, but it's not that rare either. That there can only be one infobox per article is a myth. Ford Transit, Jaguar XJ and Vauxhall Cavalier are other examples. Not ideal I agree, but that is one of the downsides of combining loosely related articles into one that are independent enough to justify separate infoboxes.
