Abou El Fadl and Shariah Law edit

Maybe I´m wrong, but for me it seems that Mr Abou El Fadl is promoting a kind of Sharia light or creeping Sharia. Abou El Fadl doesn`want to tell us that every, even the smallest part of Sharia is discriminatory toward all women and Non-Muslims. Besides, you can never take a little bit of God`s Holy Law ... splitting Sharia would be like splitting Allah. I think Abou El Fadl is paving the way for organizations of Islamic totalitarianism, like global Muslim Brotherhood. 79.251.103.123 (talk) 16:10, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Caution about discussing Fadl as a subject -- this page is for discussing how to improve the article. With this admonition in mind, do you have WP:RS which supports your idea? If so, you might add it to the article.--S. Rich (talk) 03:02, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Exactly, this writer echoes the views of islamophobes who believe that all Muslims belong to al-Qaeda.
Professor El Fadl is an American lawyer holding a J.D. from one of the top 10 universities in the USA.
Plus he earned a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from Princeton. Now, he is a full Professor of Law at UCLA.
El Fadl espouses a moderate, pluralistic interpretation of Islam in his book
The Great Theft: Wrestling Islam From The Extremists.
Anyone who encounters El Fadl in real life will discover that his wife does not wear a hijab.
Does this help?
