Until today, the later career section of the article started As a journalist and museologist, he was a controversial character of the European museum scene and inventor of the term "industrial archaeology" in the 1960s, a broadcaster and the author of numerous books. [italics mine]
I've removed the text in italics because it doesn't seem to be correct. At the very least, the term was used before the 1960s, and Michael Rix's 1995 article "Industrial archaeology"[1] is typically referred to as the first time the term was used in print. Add to that, a 1967 article in Cornish Archaeology states that Donald Dudley coined the term in the early 1950s.[2] Perhaps there is a typo in the claim previously included in this article and it was meant to say the 1950s rather than 1960s, but that aside there is enough evidence to contest the claim so I have removed it. I've reproduced it here in case someone is able to add a source for it in the future. Richard Nevell (talk) 20:41, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
