Fair use rationale for Image:LOfficiel-Russia October2004 01.jpg edit

Image:LOfficiel-Russia October2004 01.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

BLP issues - Somali edit

Since all references to her being (part) Somali are from blogs, and another blog says absolutely the opposite (look for "dizzytacks") it would be better if people stop categorizing her as "Somali". In any case, she cannot be at "Somali models" and NOT at "Yemeni models" or "Finnish models".

I also noticed that a number of blogs claiming Somali heritage concede that she does not look "very" Somali, but then explain that that is because a) a father's genes are "stronger" than a mother's genes (mistakenly thinking that because her name is Russian, the mother must have provided the African heritage, which is probably incorrect) b) East African genes are not so strong as other genes - so children from a mixed marriage look more like the other spouse. Basically, anyone using references like that to claim Somali heritage, should have a good look at WP:FRINGE. Sources like that should be removed from external refernces.

On the other hand, since the question seems to come up very often on fashion forums, the rumour itself is notable (at this moment, there is precious little else for certain to say about this model, actually), so I put it in the text. If this is stil against BLP, and we have to remove that too, I propose deletion of the article. --Paul Pieniezny (talk) 10:46, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, thanks to an ip-editor we now have the url for her official blog where she explains where her parents come from. I am unable to understand Russian, but Google Translate works well enough to partially understand the story. I read it, and I think the chance that this is a forgery is 0%; we can consider it to be a reliable source. Wasbeer 01:15, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think her mom is actually Russian and has a Komi-Permyak heritage. Wasbeer 01:37, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
She calls herself Katja Selivanova nowadays, should the article be renamed? Wasbeer 01:39, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
I listed the article at the BLP noticeboard. Wasbeer 04:49, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

If someone has some free time, please take a look at the most recent comment on this blog. Katja married Vitaly Selivanov so her official name is Ekaterina Selivanova now. The article should probably be renamed. I am unable to understand the Russian language and due to circumstances I am unable to fix it myself. Wasbeer 01:44, 18 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
