Vissering vs. Oppenheimer edit

Per WP:SURNAME I've changed most of the "Kitty" references to "Vissering" as that appears to be her birth name. Her father's name was Pruening but apparently she went by Vissering. Since "Kitty" is a nickname, the tone is excessively familiar as well as running afoul of MOS. Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 16:12, 2 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

These contentions such as Pruening not being her surname are not supported by the sources cited in the article. Please your provide references here to support them. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 18:30, 2 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
The article already used Vissering as her surname, note beginning of "Early Life" section (which I did not write) and I found another reference to it elsewhere as Vissering and not Pruening. I don't care which one to use, but it should not be Kitty except selectively. I'd have appreciated your changing it to Pruening if that was your belief, rather than hitting the revert button. That is not correct; Vissering was her middle name. What are your sources? Hawkeye7 (discuss) 02:58, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Didn't I just say that I was happy with changing "Kitty" to Puening? Why did you change everything back to "Kitty" despite WP:SURNAME? Why are you picking a fight over this? There is no dispute here unless you have a problem with my use of WP:SURNAME to change excessive use of the given names. If you do, say so and we'll go to DR. Unless changed, the tone of the article is adversely affected due to excessive use of given names----"Kitty" and "Robert." I retained some toward the end but previously "Kitty" was used throughout, and then "Robert" was used inappropriately imo.Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 13:43, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Coming in here to raise concerns of the excessive familiar usage of 'Kitty' and it seems it has been discussed and acted on (but action undone, inappropriately imh, might I add).
Also would like to understand why the title refers to her surname as Oppenheimer when the very intro para states that she was his common law wife? 180.150.39.78 (talk) 13:24, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
It says that she was "the common-law wife of activist Joe Dallet, and then the wife of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer". Kitty and Robert Oppenheimer were legally married. It is always difficult with people who change their names, especially when they do so multiple times. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 19:49, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
