Just a note: I removed 'goose-stepping' from the description of the military parades, as I felt it was needlessly POV (given the common association of the term with Nazism in the English language). Not at all, 'goose-stepping' states for the German term "Preussischer Stechschritt" that was introduced long time ago before Nazi Germany was established. It´s a specail kind of march established by the Prussian kings, also used by other German kingdoms, Nazi Germany and the GDR. No other German state uses this kind of march after the WW II (19:09, 6 May 2006, 85.178.127.67)

A little after the fact, but the initial poster's comment was that 'goose-steping' is immediately associated with Naziism, or at least that there is a strong nuance of such whenever this word is used. This statement seems, in my eyes at least, to be valid (do a quick search for "Lion King nazi" for a simple example). Furthermore and without trying to be offensive, I think the original poster, as presumably a native speaker of English (as opposed to poster II) has a better sense for colloquial English, nuance and pop culture in the English-speaking world. Agreed - the commonplace Nazi association makes it NPOV except in particular contexts. Apart from anything else, as the Goose-Step article notes, East German marching used a modified form (knee-height) and name. Explaining that nuance will be appropriate in some articles, but not here. Stalin's bathroom

There's a really interesting self-referential story about this street on the German Wikipedia: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl-Marx-Allee#Kurioses (google translate version [1]). It basically says that a journalist added the "fact" that this street used to be called "stalin's bathroom" by the locals to the Wikipedia article - as a joke. This "fact" was then picked up and used by many tourist guides. When he came to try and remove the sentence later on it was returned because the "fact" was now verifiable! He published a story about it in his newspaper in order to provide a verififiable source for removing the story :-) Yes, it's self referential to WP, but it's a really interesting and well cited story. Große Straße / Grosse Strasse

I want to make you aware of a discussion at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Horst-Wessel-Lied, how to spell Straße and Große. May be I was to open and defensive. It is not really about "joining the discussion", it is more about "please help us to execute the result of the discussion".@Beyond My Ken:, there is one thing, I simply do not understand: Why do you not change the spelling of the Street in this article and many others (all occurrences of the Street's name), whereas you are blocking to use exactly this spelling in the other article, simply does not make sense. --Nillurcheier (talk) 08:26, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
