Public Records of Immigrant Families in Tanzania

Hello. One of the challenges that come up with Tanzanian history is the issue of references and sources of material. I am interested in where I can find historical material, especially that pertaining to Indian migrants to Zanzibar and Tanganyika in the colonial era, particularly from Gujarat.
