Heavily biased and one sided, Khmer population? edit

The grossly over inflated number of 10 million khmers is simply way too overexaggerated. There is simply no way to tell this figure is correct, how exactly can you as an independent journalist go around counting every pure khmer as there are communities of khmer kroms that are also mixed with other ethnuc minorities and list the population as over 10 million? Census data from the Vietnamese government lists this population as 1.3 million of khmers, which is much more believable than self published sources of 7 million to 10 million. The KKF (Khmer Krom Federation) and VOKK (Voice of Kampuchea Krom) seem to be anti-Vietnam organizations. If this is the extent of evidence, proof and statistics for this article and topic then it is terribly researched. It's like how did South Vietnam even exist with its civilians and armies of their own, when apparently from their sources, about half of the popilation are Khmers. Simply way too ludicrous. Another Questionable Philip Taylor Source edit

Philip Taylor apparently mentions that this land was ceded to the Vietnamese by the French in 1949 (whether it was written by a Khmer or Philip Taylor himself is unknown, will have to fact check it), but was "ceded in 1949". How does that explain the Nguyen Dynasty's expansionism into Inner Cambodia? By late 1834, Minh Mạng renamed Cambodia as Tây Thành Province and incorporated it into his kingdom. Trương Minh Giảng was appointed as the governor of the province. The entirety of the Cambodian administration, tax resisters, military, foreign affairs, economy departments,... were transferred to Vietnamese control. This was before French rule. So how was this land of Cambodia ceded to the Vietnamese? Did someone rewrite Philip Taylor's book or is he just biased? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Norewritingofhistory (talkcontribs) 07:24, 10 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay, so I read the part that was questionable. The author mentions said to have been separated from Cambodia during the process of French decolonisation and wrongfully placed under Vietnamese administration. Key word is said which means it isn't Philip Taylor's opinion. Whoever wrote it in a way to suggest that he thought of it as is, is blaspheming his work. Although Philip Taylor's book only provides a one sided point of view, the only contacts he had in this book were mainly with Khmer nationalists who may not have the full grasp of knowledge and spout revised irredentist claims.Norewritingofhistory (talk) 15:49, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

VOKK (Voice of Kampuchea Krom), Federation of Khmer Krom sources, No historical documents or references from Khmer side in that time period edit

Why are these even accepted as primary sources, let alone even an actual source? Can we please get actual, relevant sources that come from that time period from Cambodia? I can't find any historical documents that list anything in here. Their claims are all revised irrendentism. Norewritingofhistory (talk) 16:11, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
