Added a citation verification tag to the claim that the nyt review of The Passage was favorable. In my honest opinion, whomever wrote that did not grasp the tone of the review, which seems to be at best neutral, if not slightly mocking (e.g., describing the transition to the Colony narrative as being "the Time of Portentous Upper-Case Names"; commenting on Cronin's overuse of italicization in his writing.)
Look, if the contributors to this page want to white wash the reception of Cronin's book (which, more fairly could be described as "mixed," in my opinion) then by all means, be my guest. However, such attempts should at least be supported by credible (though no doubt biasedly selected!) sources. Agreed on "unsigned"'s comments on the NYT review. The novel was superb for the first 250 pages, then the story line and characterization fell off a cliff.
