We have another page at Vasaka which is about the same plant. While this page approaches the subject from botanical point of view, Vasaka looks at it from Ayurved herb point of view. the distinction however is not watertight as this page also looks at medicinal properties. I think a it of reogranisation may help both the article.

Option 1: Merge the articles - other plant/herb articles following this approach - Ginger, Garlic Option 2: Largely keep them as it is, with their focuses as botanical and herb respectively, however, in that case, I think those visiting herb page would be more interested in medicinal properties given in this page rather than visitors of this page itself. The information can be shifted or at least referenced. - other plant/herb articles following this approach - Peppermint Option 3: At minimum, user of each page should be made aware of existence of the other page. I would proceed to just cross reference the articles for now as original authors / those watching this page may come up with better idea/choices for how to reorganise.

I'm merging the articles. A future split might be appropriate, if this article is vastly expanded with information on the use of the herb, but at present there's not enough content to justify keeping them separate. Plantdrew (talk) 02:53, 29 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Origin edit

This plant is grown and native to Pakistan. Why is Pakistan not listed? I have in my hand the plant leaves I took off myself from jhalo chak (location is near Dina, jhelum, punjab, Pakistan).

By omitting, you are factually Mis leading public, this can be raised as an official complaint and legal challenge.

Add Pakistan to the country of origin list and understand this, do not subject Pakistan to exclusions, we will lobby for her. 86.144.108.200 (talk) 07:46, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Distributions must be based on reliable sources, not personal observations. It may be that when the distribution was first added (in 2020), Plants of the World Online (the source used) didn't list Pakistan. It does now, as well as some other countries that weren't in the list, so I've updated it. Peter coxhead (talk) 08:50, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
