Cleanup required edit

  • This page is currently total crap, and was posted by a fan. I am a big fan of his, but this is borderline MTV fan chat site stuff. I don't have time right now to clean it up, or the knowledge of his background, but can someone just remove some of the stuff that we don't need, like downloading songs and celebrity friends?--Fresh 23:50, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's still this way--17 years later. It reads like a vanity page. alainsane (talk) 23:06, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yeh, i agree its pretty poor. However, its late and i ate waaaay to much, so i'll do it later......

Please supply date of birth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skysong263 (talkcontribs) 01:46, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ms. Fisk edit

Can we get confirmation on his dating Ms. Fisk? Is that just gossip from a tabloid or has it been verifed by either of them in print. Source please.

I saw them play in San Francisco and he talked about how he had asked her out and she said no so he wrote her a song and that didn't work. Sometime later he wrote Only You for her and that did the trick. --MrCalifornia 20:55, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think you mean "The Fear You Won't Fall" was the song, since "Only You" is a cover. The song he initially wrote for her was "Someone Else's Life." All this information comes from live shows - I also have attended a show where they both performed and Radin mentioned their relationship. --Cue the Strings 23:17, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that's probably it. I love the guy's music, but I can't remember song names. --MrCalifornia 19:03, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Influences edit

The following is taken from the Sufjan Stevens discussion page. I agree with the statement and have added citation needed appropriatly.--Fresh 14:31, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
"I recognize the value in discussing musical references, but these need sources. A brief look around Wikipedia reveals a rather worrying tendency among editors of articles on musicians to include an ever-expanding list of inferences comprising artists and genres that they felt were similar. This cannot happen here.

We must recognize that musical inspiration is an extremely intangible and unverifiable animal. The most we can probably do is say things like "Critic X draws a link between artists A and B, finding that... [and here's his/her explanation]", or "In a poll, listeners agreed that Sufjan's music seemed influenced by...". If we do find some legit article which categorically states that Sufjan drew inspiration from certain genres and artists while working on the album, then perhaps it can go in the article without attribution (although certainly with a reference). Until then I'm adding a [citation needed] notice. Omphaloscope » talk 00:24, 25 July 2006 (UTC)"

I have tried to add the following link as a citation for his songs getting a positive response amongst Scrubs' demographic. It is a thread from a board where scrubs fans have listed some of their favourite songs from the show. 'Closer' and 'Winter' have both been named as favourite songs. But when I add the link, the rest of this page seems to disappear for some reason.

Album or EP edit

I thought the recording 'First Between 3rd and 4th' was an EP and therefore should probably be listed as such and not as an album. Any other opinions on this? —RogMcDog 08:06, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well no-one has commented on this and as, if you click on 'First Between 3rd and 4th' it links to the wiki page describing it as an EP I'm going to change it myself. Feel free to revert if you think I'm wrong (with a reason preferably!) RogMcDog 12:22, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Done and done! I have also deleted the live album (live at Reg's coffee house) as it was listed as a studio album! I don't know anything about this album so am reluctant to re-list it elsewhere. If anyone else has knowledge please feel free to amend. What is there now may be incomplete but at least it's accurate and consistent throughout wikipedia. Hope everyone agrees. Fair use rationale for Image:Joshua Radin We Were Here cover.jpg edit

Image:Joshua Radin We Were Here cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:16, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hurricane Katrina edit

I have removed the bit about Hurricaine Katrina, because it's ridiculous that that should be included in an Encyclopedia. This page needs a real overhaul.

Why is that ridiculous? --MrCalifornia 18:54, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

its irrelevant, it would mean we could legitimatly fill the page will all of the other things he has written about. the only way it would be worthwhile would be if that particular song had its own page --Jackc5755 (talk) 21:32, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Garden State edit

Shouldn't we mention something about Joshua being in the Ecstasy scene in Garden State?

Tonedawg2189 (talk) 08:13, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't think Joshua Radin's music was on the Garden State soundtrack. A song was picked by Zack Braff for the The Last Kiss Soundtrack.

Gray's Anatomy!!!! edit

Which song by him was used in Gray's Anatomy?

Scrubs, Zach Braff & Bill Lawrence edit

This article incorrectly notes in the opening paragraph that Zach Braff is responsible for placing Joshua's song "Winter" in a particular Scrubs episode, though it was actually the shows creator, Bill Lawrence, who should be credited for adding Radin's song, "Winter" (and others) to the episode. Braff brought Bill Lawrence's attention to Joshua and his music, though he did not play a part in syncing the music with the episode.[1][2] Crowdsurftn (talk) 20:57, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
