Merge National Military Command Center and Joint War Room

Mea Culpa, I just noticed during my last editing session that I mistakenly posted a greatly expanded article--instead of to the desired/correct page name--to a page I had planned to create as a redirect back to the desired/coorect page name. Can the article be moved to that correct page name? 30 SW (talk) 16:49, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

The result of the proposal was procedural close. Merge discussion can continue above. It looks like the idea of the merge is not controversial, but there may be disagreement over the most appropriate title. If that discussion comes to no consensus, prefer the more established title of National Military Command Center. --BDD (talk) 17:07, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Joint War RoomNational Military Command Center – Name at beginning of article 30 SW (talk) 16:49, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Wikipedia policy is to prefer the common name over the official name. Do you have evidence that the name "National Military Command Center" is more commonly used to refer the article topic than "Joint War Room"? Knight of Truth (talk) 21:35, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Speedy procedural close merge requests are handled at WP:PM, not Requested Moves. Further, you're trying to delete an 8-year old article with your new aritcle. Per WP:EDIT you should be editing the old article, not tyring to delete its contribution history. Therefore, this page should be deleted as a duplicate, since you expanded the old article, without attributing the old information. -- 65.94.79.6 (talk) 06:21, 14 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
