Some information very similar to another source edit

The following information is very similiar to information found in Find A Grave. I am not sure if it has been directly copied from Find A Grave and no reference for the information is cited in the article. The information is: "John Van Buren of Kingston is sometimes confused with the son of President Martin Van Buren. President Van Buren's son John Van Buren was born in 1810 and died in 1866. While active in the New York Democratic Party, as was John Van Buren of Kingston, President Van Buren's son never lived in Kingston, served as a Judge, or was elected to Congress". The Find A Grave information can be found at: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=6825567. Would appreciate another editor's view to see if they think this information is too similiar and should be removed from the article. Thanks--BuzyBody (talk) 17:38, 24 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I wrote the passage in question, in both locations. I contribute to both Find A Grave and Wikipedia, so I don't think the possibility of plagiarism is an issue. If anyone has a problem with the wording in the Wikipedia article, I can modify it without losing the context.
I was motivated to include this passage about John van Buren of Kingston because of the number of times I've read the incorrect information that President Van Buren's son John served in Congress. It included an email exchange with a professor who was quoted in a CNN article as saying that President Van Buren's son served in Congress, and wouldn't admit his error no matter how much information I provided him. My ancestors are from Columbia County, New York, and I'm familiar with Martin Van Buren's history, so that's what motivated me to get the details right.
