A bit of a mystery here someone might be able to solve: in 1970 New Zealand band The Human Instinct included a cover of a Kongos song, "Tomorrow I'll Go" (labelled simply as "Tomorrow") on their album Stoned Guitar. The song appeared on Kongos' 1972 self-titled album. Where did the Human Instinct pick it up? Had Kongos already released it? Grimhim (talk) 09:02, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
In the liner notes of the latest (2011) reissue of Stoned Guitar, Human Instinct's Maurice Greer mentions that he'd befriended John Kongos in London in the late 60s while Kongos was still a member of Floribunda Rose. I have an EP of a song called Impi (1982). It was a real 'stumble-upon' when I bought it at that time in Montreal, Canada. It looks like the artist was Impi too but it was produced by John Kongos. It doesn't sound like his other music (my friends thought I was odd for liking it) & is not included on the reference sites for this article.
