The statement at the very end of this article, viz "Moubray House, which was owned by Robert Moubray, the landlord of the house where Knox lodged in the 1560s" seems more confusing than enlightening. There seems to be no support for it in the Robert Miller essay 'Where did John Knox live in Edinburgh?' (unless I have missed a reference), and I am unable to check Miller's 'John Knox and the Town Council of Edinburgh' which is the relevant citation. It's a random co-incidence. The prominent old house was called "John Knox House" in later times, and that house happens to be next door to the former Moubray family house. The Moubray family owned another house in Warriston's Close, which is where Knox stayed. Miller doesn't discuss the "Moubray House" because that was not on topic for him. For instance, it was apparently not part of the 'traditional belief' in the "John Knox House" that its identity depended on the proximity of Moubray House.Unoquha (talk) 20:35, 23 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
