John Buchan character edit

Yes, there really is a character named "John Galt" in the Dickson McCunn trilogy by John Buchan. He has a major role in all three novels, although in the first (Huntingtower) he is referred to only as "Jaikie" or "Wee Jaikie". In Castle Gay he has become McCunn's adopted son and is introduced as "J. Galt, born in Glasgow. Educated at the Western Academy and St Mark's College, Cambridge". In The House of the Four Winds he is described as "Mr John Galt, of St. Mark's College, Cambridge [...] having just attained a second class in his Tripos and having so concluded his university career". Of course these novels predate Ayn Rand's use of the character name. 64.93.124.227 (talk) 03:22, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I removed the wikilink to Buchan, since dab pages are supposed to point to one item per line. I don't have a strong opinion as to whether we should link the trilogy page (which is probably a better target but there's nothing there) or the author page (which isn't the right target but has some content). So if you think the other is more appropriate, you can change it if you like. Protonk (talk) 10:24, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
