Shall review this.
- The lead is fine, but the third sentence of the second paragraph, "The Indians to the White Sox in 1949, then the White Sox traded him to the Philadelphia Athletics in 1950" reads fragmented, to me at least. Perhaps this could be rephrased?
- "His birthplace was on the Tennessee border, so his birthplace was originally registered...", repetition needs addressing.
- "He later was part of the Battle of Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa.", the source given does not support this.
- "The New York Giants purchased the contracts of Tipton and Wayne Terwilliger on January 14, 1955, who sent them to the minor league Minneapolis Millers", the source confirms that Tipton went to Minneapolis, but doesn't state the New York Giants involvement.
- Refs 1, 4, 7, 10, 15, 18, 20, 23 and 25 need location parameters filled in.
- No dabs or dead links. I see no problems with the licensing of the main image.

- Thanks for the review. Issues in progress. I think for the two ref issues I looked at two references yet only sourced one; I'll find the others in my archives and add them in. Also, as a follow-up, I have a couple of sources regarding his personality on the baseball field as a rather talkative catcher, would those be worth adding in to give more depth to the article? - Rest of issues addressed. I'll think of a good way to incorporate that, since it's just Sporting News stuff adding it in without the inline doesn't help since it's nearly impossible to find access anymore. The Giants/Millers ref is a bit tricky, as the Minneapolis team is a minor league squad for the Giants. I added the second ref in, though it's possible I'm overthinking it and B/R is wrong on the Giants' involvement. Wizardman 15:24, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
