Talk:Jewish Museum in Prague

Latest comment: 5 years ago by Mr. Posen

It is astonishing that so major a museum had lacked a page until now. The page needs a great deal of work, but sources are copious.Historicist (talk) 16:55, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

It might be useful to mention the following articles, all by Edward David Luft and all having appeared in Avotaynu: The International Review of Jewish Genealogy, Teaneck, New Jersey, [1]in any revision of the article because the citations are relevant to the Museum. The English-language Museum website is http://www.jewishmuseum.cz/en/info/visit/

1. ‘The Complete Catalogue of the Jewish Communities of Bohemia and Moravia, excluding that of Prague,’” Volume VII, Number 3, Fall 1991, pp. 20-21. The article is more than a mere book review, discussing the history of why the records were collected in one place and information on how to use the resource and discussing equivalent research in the Slovak archives.

Perhaps the following additional articles by the same author in the same publication should be added [taken from https://sites.google.com/site/edwarddavidluftbibliography/home/edward-david-luft-bibliography}

It should also be noted that many Czech Jewish references are also posted at www.GenTeam.at/. See the references to that website in Luft's publications.
