Was the fighting between Lawler and Tazz a shoot or was it scripted?User:Killswitch Engage

Scripted, although i'm sure they enjoyed it. However, Styles slapping JR's hat off WAS a shoot. TJ Spyke 22:55, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

K thx, cause the it looked like their was serious heat between as Lawler voices a rather negative opinion of ECW in the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD and i figured that could have started a real fight.User:Killswitch Engage

Lawler's anti-ECW rants are always kayfabe. If the guy truly hated ECW he would have had absolutely nothing to do with the promotion over the years. It would also be pretty hypocritical if it was real heat, since Lawler was involved in controversial & very violent angles in the 1980's. Its not like Lawler hasn't used barbed wire & weapons in the past.--Hndsmepete 22:28, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship issue

Some editors continue to list Lawler's reign with this particularly championship at 43 times and it's not technically accurate. The title was originally an NWA sanctioned championship called the NWA Southern Heavyweight Championship (Memphis version). Lawler held this title a total of 13 times before the title was renamed the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship. He would go on to win this title 30 times and while the titles do have the same historical lineage, for the sake of the articles, they have to be listed as two seperate championship reigns. The AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship didn't exist until 1978 and you can't list Lawler as winning a championship four years before it technically even existed.Odin's Beard 22:47, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

123 time champion?

I calculated the amount of times he has been champion and i get it to 123. That's impressive. 83.73.228.198 21:27, 27 May 2007 (UTC)emilos

Trivia

He is a huge fan of Coca Cola and has a room dedicated to his collection of Coca Cola memoribillia, much of which he obtained from free markets and gifts.

Daughter?

On his imdb.com biography, it states that he has a daughter named Heather Lyn Lawler. I haven't read his book so is this a true fact or not?(MgTurtle 03:40, 7 August 2007 (UTC)).

PW Collaboration of the week

Jerry Lawler is the COTW, so please help improve the article. Lex94 14:37, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Hart-Lawler feud

I added some information about this feud. If it's too long, I won't be at all upset if someone trims it a bit. I was also wondering if anyone had a reliable source stating that it was a rape trial that forced Lawler to miss Survivor Series 1993. I didn't have a reference that I was completely satisfied with, so I just wrote it in as "legal problems." I figure that, for an accusation like that, a completely reliable source should be cited. AWA

We need to expand Lawler's career in AWA. Also, we can add his minor WWE feuds like when he defended Hulk Hogan, and faced Randy Orton. When he beat Gregory Helms at NYR. When he tagged with JR against Coach and Snow...Lex94 00:46, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I was planning to expand his earlier career a little bit later tonight. I found a pretty good article that details some of his early feuds and title defenses in the 70s. I'll probably work on it during RAW. Nikki311 00:50, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Jim White

The wikilink leads to a page about a singer/songwriter. The disambiguation page lists no one described as a pro wrestler. Should the link be removed altogether? Gavyn Sykes 15:28, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Work

Yeah, the article definatly needs work, I'll help where I can, but I'm no expert on Lawler.Sephiroth storm 04:29, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I honostly don't believe that this article needs any more work. The organization can be better but I know nothing of Jerry and I'm not his fan.Thedeadmanandphenom 13:48, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Jim Carrey Incident

I thought it was revealed afterwards that this "incident" was a hoax and that Carrey and Lawler had simply agreed on pretending that they hated each other, and that the injury was fake, and that it was all a publicity stunt/hommage to the real Andy Kaufman. Am I wrong? Was it real after all? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.229.171.156 (talk) 14:29, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Independent circuit

The emphasis in this article is heavily on the King's wrestling career, while I think a lot more can and should be said about his life. In my opinion, the fact that he was in an independent circuit is not nearly as important as the fact that he quit. Remember how much more media attention was paid to his departure from the company than his small gigs with independent promotions.

Even more importantly is the long-standing questions he poses in his book and in his interviews: why was she fired? who wanted her out? was he to blame?

Remember, there is a real-life story here, and whoever referenced the interview before me couldn't even get that right.--Screwball23 talk 04:46, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Non Wrestling Interests: DC Comics

Jerry is a huge Superman fan, and aspired to be a comic book artist earlier in his life: http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/archive/lawlersuperman . Could this go into the non-wrestling interests section? I know he is still to this day looking for an opportunity to draw a Superman cover for DC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.11.205.149 (talk) 16:15, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

It might fit better under Lawler's personal life. All the other things that are mentioned in the non wrestling interests section are things that he's actually done at some point as opposed to something he's always wanted to do but never has.Odin's Beard (talk) 23:59, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I concur, Lawler wanting to be a comic book artist doesn’t fit in non wrestling interests as it is something that he never did. --DavidD4scnrt (talk) 00:31, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
