Article Expansion and Updates edit

This article needs some help. To start, I edited "Further Reading" and changed "Recorded latest album" to "Recorded the album" since "Lifehouse" is no longer the latest album (album "Who We Are" will be released June 2007). Mercurialmusic 19:00, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also under "Further Reading," are there any thoughts on removing the blurb about Cole (and perhaps moving it to the Lifehouse (band) page? It definitely doesn't seem to fit under the Jason Wade biography. Mercurialmusic 19:51, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Added Infobox. Mercurialmusic 20:09, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

External source edit

Overhauled the article. I googled "Jason Wade" and came across an article on mostbeautifulman.com. The website granted permission to use their article, with the condition that it be referenced and linked on the page. After tying it all together, I removed the stub tags. comments: hey, i found your article on jason wade through a google search and thought it was quite good. i'm an editor for wikipedia (what nerd isn't, right?) and was hoping to use parts of this article in jason's page, but i would need your permission to do so. everything would be attributed and linked to this original article at the bottom of the page, so it would still be your words, of course. and some free linkage. :) but that'd be great if you could let me know, also if there were any other sources, that would be helpful. thanks!

Hope that is sufficient. Mercurialmusic 22:26, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Discussion regarding changes between user:mercurialmusic and user:corvus cornix:
Before Wikipedia can use copyrighted material, it is necessary that you provide evidence that you have the rights to use it. Are you the owner of the website that it is copied from, or do you have explicit permission by the copyright owner to provide the inforamtion under the GFDL license, fully aware that the material will be edited unmercifully? Corvus cornix 22:21, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I received permission from the website to use their article. I posted evidence on Talk:Jason Wade. Will this be sufficient?

Do they understand that the information will be edited? Right now, what's there is not in encyclopedic languague. Corvus cornix 22:34, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that the possibility of editing was inferred with the mention of Wikipedia and understood when the permission was granted to "use" the article, but I will e-mail them again to clarify. Mercurialmusic 22:39, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. You should let them know what GFDL means, and that the information can and will be spread throughout the Internet and can be used in commercial applications, both on and off the net. Corvus cornix 22:56, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I emailed the site again to clarify and inform them of the ramifications, and I received a response rather quickly. They're not being very verbose, but I think it's all there:

Thanks. --Mercurialmusic 23:36, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, sounds like they're ok with it, so go ahead and re-add the stuff you had, and add this information to the Talk page. Corvus cornix 23:42, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Trivia Section edit

The information in this section was here before I began expanding the page. Can these be verified? It looks like the information was taken from the IMDB trivia section for Jason, which could possibly be a copyright violation, but I also don't know how reliable the information is. Please try to find reliable sources for this information, then cite them using the reference <ref> tags. --Mercurialmusic 18:30, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Added references needed tag. --Mercurialmusic 18:34, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikification edit

I started to rewrite the text, somewhat, mostly in the "Early life" section. I left all of the quotes by Wade, but tried to restructure the medium to be a little more encyclopedic. Thoughts? --Mercurialmusic 04:45, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

References needed and vandalism concerns edit

I'm trying to find more references to confirm the information we have, particularly about the date of his marriage to his wife, Braeden. It's a little frustrating, but every search I run comes back with about a million sites that get all of their information from this article! If anyone finds a reference, be sure that it is not from a source that uses the same language (probably copied from here) or that cites Wikipedia as a source. Also...as the release of the new album and singles draws nearer, perhaps partial protection should be sought? There has already been a few cases of vandalism, which will probably increase in the near future. --Mercurialmusic 00:09, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tone edit

I placed a tone tag because of sentences such as these: "Finding a solace in music, Jason eventually began reconciling himself to his new circumstances and settled into his new home" are not appropriate as written. I've already removed the phrase "a life suggestive of an all-American boyhood". Also throughout the entire article, his first name is used which is also inappropriate. The article reads like a magazine article than an encyclopedia article. ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 06:53, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey Jason. i luv ur music. u r awsome. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.108.98.156 (talk) 16:26, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The unsigned comment directly above is perhaps the most asinine comment ever... Anywho, I agree, the tone of the article is not very encyclopedic. It's more written more like an essay or news article or something. The use of in line quotes of what Jason Wade says is not really appropriately done. Someone should rewrite this. Pyrotics (talk) 21:06, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
OK, cleaned up article and edited according to advice given above. Removed tone tag. Still needs a couple citations, but it reads much more Wikipedia now. Hope that helped. I just looked up his band on MySpace music and saw they have 77 million song plays to date. Whoa!!! Cheers--Rickbrown9 (talk) 20:34, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained reversion edit

@Walter Görlitz: Why was I reverted without explanation here? 142.160.89.97 (talk) 06:13, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Because you reverted more than you wanted to. I restored the content with which you were concerned. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:18, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Huh, I didn't think you considered that to be a problem... 142.160.89.97 (talk) 06:24, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
