Trim Article? edit

This is a relatively long article that goes into greater depth than appears to be necessary or proper in an encyclopedic context. Sections tend to take on the feel of advertising/publicity speech at times. I do not have a deep knowledge in this particular sub-field and do not want to minimize work on a topic as important as women in cinema, which in my opinion gets too little consideration in the world at large. Still, a review by someone with more knowledge in the field would be helpful to determine whether this article should be substantially trimmed or deleted. As it stood, the article read too much like a resume, and hopefully it has a more encylopedic feel now.Magic1million (talk) 01:34, 31 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Notability Established? edit

As I have now returned to this article a number of times, I am beginning to wonder if notability has been established. Many of the works cited tend to be apparently self-published, and the subject of the article's involvement with Jane Addams day appears to be overstated. At the same time, the under-representation of women in film and journalism is a genuine problem, and I would not want to nominate this article for deletion on my own without the input of someone with more expertise on these matters. Ultimately, though, it seems to me the article subject is doing good work but, even still, notability is not established.Magic1million (talk) 21:49, 13 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Subject Appears Non-Notable edit

The subject of this article appears not to meet the notability standards for a Wikipedia article. Although she has appeared in some press coverage over time and appears to be an active member of an organization (the AAUW) that is notable, taking everything together as a whole, I do not see her as a person that meets the Wikipedia standards. Her primary achievements appear to be self-publishing books and getting some press coverage regarding her critique of Danny Boyle being listed as the only director for Slumdog Millionaire during the film awards season. Her work related to Jane Addams day appears to have been mostly in conjunction with the AAUW, and it does not seem that she was a primary driving force in such efforts. Even so, I wanted to open discussion on the talk page before nominating for deletion. Magic1million (talk) 16:39, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
