WTF? edit

Okay, I'm really posing a serious question here and not just trying to spread fud, but: what the hell is this? Why are you creating entries for FICTIONAL CHARACTERS on wikipedia? This is insane! If you want to have a "bad American TV drama" wiki with this kind of stuff, that's fine, but seriously, get this off of here! Please, for the love of everything educational...

Presumed Death edit

"The men from the helicopter watch as his car sinks into the water. Heller is presumed to be dead, but the show usually doesn't leave any doubt. The car never explodes, Heller is never seen, and Henderson talks to Audrey about the possibility that he is still alive. Clearly, he is presumed dead, but can't be officially called dead until it is confirmed."

I put in a summarized version of this. I don't think we have to debate on the page whether he's dead or not. His fate is unknown, and until we see more episodes, I think we should leave it at "presumed dead", since it leaves the possibility of him not being dead.JurgenHadley 00:43, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think "Unknown" or "Presumed Dead" both work. It could go either way at this point, although, some recent publications in TV Guide strongly suggest he is very much alive, but I think we should wait for the actual show to confirm.---RJ 27 April 2006 (UTC)

  • It is quite odd for this show to not specifically state the status - even when it was dead-obvious on the fate, there was some type of mentioning of the events in previous episodes and seasons. --Mrmiscellanious 21:39, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Affiliated" with the Republican Party? edit

Presidents can appoint cabinet members of any party, not necessarily those of their own (and they never explicitly stated that neither Keeler nor Logan were Republicans in the first place). Nothing said Heller was Republican. He's just your standard every day militaristic Secretary of Defense. --Deege515

Strong argument, but that is not correct. We do know the Logan administration is Republican from several sources. Day 3 and Day 1 are proof enough, but if you need more, go to 24 inside, and watch the interview with Jude. He confirms that Palmer's administration is Democrat, and Keeler/Logan is Republican.

In addition...how much more conservative can James Heller get? Just look at Day 4. He attacks his sons very liberal values, is a traditionalist, and shows distaste for Micheal Moore. His actions alone are more then enough to confirm he is with the GOP. Restored.

Keeler, Logan, and Gardner are definitely Republican. However, Heller can be debated. Palmer did many things and beleived in many things that were considered conservative (Opening the ANWR in 24: Midnight Sun comes to mind), yet he was undeniably a Democrat. Heller does have many conservative beliefs and he is in a Republican situation, but you may just never know

I agree with you 100% that Palmer made some conservative calls, but he showed several liberal values as well. One is responding the racism issue in GA, and another was not allowing Jack to kill Siad Ali's family to make him talk. Heller has yet to display ONE liberal act. Everything about him has screamed conservative. In addition to what I have posted above, he is the SOD of a Republican administration, and never in the history of this country has a SOD been from a different party than the President.

Bill Clinton's third SOD was a republican,William Cohen.

But still I go back to the "affiliation" definition. The Cabinet is part of the executive branch of government, and doesn't base their decisions on "party" politics, but on the nation's interest as a whole (whether you agree with those decisions or not). While Heller may be a "member" of the party, it doesn't necessarily mean that he's prioritizing his work in the interests of GOP. (Another option is to believe that he may be a conservative "lifelong" "old time" Democrat.) If you disagree, I won't change it back in order to avoid an edit war, but that's just my point. I just think that if some of the politicians on the show are listed with a party label based on the sole implicit assumption of left/right policy, then the party of all of the show's politicians should be advertised as well. --Deege515

President Rumors edit

I'm snipping them because it has been confirmed that Wayne will be President by the LA Times, in which they describe a scene in the Oval Office to which he is referred as.

Season 6 edit

Has anyone heard whether or not Heller will reappear on season 6?

He will supposedly appear in Episode 24, in the final scene.

But.... How Dare Him? edit

Jack was willing to give anything for Audrey's life out of China... he knew the price. Jack would have died trading Audrey's life for his own. James Heller is a loving father... but how dare he? He owes his life to Jack. But he never understood the love his daughter had for Jack.... and the she would have traded her life for Jack's. And he was there to take it away and tell Jack he was cursed. How DARE him!

Prototype 2 protagonist James Heller edit

James Heller is also the protagonist of Prototype 2. Seeing that he is only a support character on 24, a disambiguation page is probably better. But I won't do that right now. I'll just add a link to the Prototype 2 article. -- Pagen HD (talk) 02:49, 21 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
