BSG Paragraph edit

I'm not sure the following paragraph/section (see this rev) belongs:

Battlestar Galactica
In 2003, the cult Battlestar Galactica (1978 TV series) was brought back to life, albeit in a reimagined form, as a three hour miniseries. The project was written and produced by Ronald D. Moore and directed by Michael Rymer. James Callis starred as Dr. Gaius Baltar in the Colonial Fleet, in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica (TV miniseries). The Miniseries effectively served as pilot for a potential TV show. A TV series was commissioned in a collaberative effort between the Sci Fi Channel (United States) and Sky TV (the British broadcaster). Battlestar Galactica is filmed mostly in Vancouver, Canada and is currently in its third season.

It has too much that's not specifically related to Callis. It might look good in a news article, but I think for an encyclopedia, most of it isn't relevant. A summary and a link to the show article should be sufficient. I'm merging it with the previous section, and removing the show background stuff. I've seen several of these pop up in BSG actor articles, and I think the same needs to be done there as well. --Fru1tbat 17:43, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Speaking about irrelevance, I actually thought he was a half-decent actor with a British accent (which for some reason, Americans seem to like), but when I watched the last episode of Battlestar Galactica when he and Caprica Six are looking over the green fields on new 'Earth', and he mentions that he actually knows a good deal about farming and then tears suddenly spring into his eyes and he starts sobbing as he remembers the father (who was a farmer) who he had always been ashamed of, at that point - I knew he had to be a fantastic actor. Not many actors could pull that scene off so well, and I have never been so moved by such a performance. I hope he goes onto do similar roles in the future, he plays the part very well. --tetris11 11:31, 20 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.43.66.211 (talk) Reply

Degree edit

I have removed a note in the Early Life section saying that James Callis graduated from the University of York with a 4.0 degree. He didn't. UoY Bachelors degrees are in the British style, First Class, Upper Second, Lower Second, Third Class, Pass. I'm guessing the 4.0 is a good degree from an American university, so is probably what we would call First Class, but have not been able to find a reference to this online. --Nickpheas 22:26, 12 September 2007 (UTC), University of York, 1986-1989Reply

Terrible Picture= edit

Is there some reason that the main picture is so unflattering? And from a comic convention? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.239.145.229 (talk) 13:57, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Similarity with Alexander Siddig edit

He is a look-alike of Alexander Siddig and therefore often confused with the latter.80.141.162.166 (talk) 16:23, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hampstead or Hammersmith? edit

The article says he was born in Hampstead, but the side-bar (and a link to a list of notable people at the bottom of the page) says he was born in Hammersmith. Don’t know which is correct, but it’s confusing. Jock123 (talk) 08:04, 5 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

References to Jewish Identity edit

Once again, Wikipedia has succumbed to the habit (and the open secret) of tagging the religion of subjects who are Jewish, while only very, very rarely tagging the religious identity of non-Jewish subjects. It's teflon-coated, plausibly-deniable anti-Semitism, and it really is shameful how often this happens. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.230.50.120 (talk) 22:00, 14 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
