Whatever Jake the alligator man is, it is no "slightly modified california sea otter". The head and torso blatantly appear to be human in origin, while the rear is clearly from a crocodilian. Which poses the disturbing question as to who's body was utilized to create him.

Still an interesting fake, though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.229.2.187 (talkcontribs) 02:38, 4 February 2007

The lower half is an alligator or a very small crocodile (VERY small), as for the top half its probably some kind of monkey like the fiji mermaid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiji_mermaid. It's worth noting that Jake is very small, I would say about 3 feet long based on my memories of seeing him last time 198.6.46.11 20:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC) NathanReply

What's the point of this article? edit

It needs to be re-written to be more encyclopedic. Perhaps it should be deleted. If every roadside curiosity merits an article in Wikipedia, where will it end? Unless "Jake" can be shown to have some cultural relevance (evidence of a crime, used for some educational purpose, etc.), I would propose that this article be deleted. Even if it isn't deleted, it should be re-written, though I don't know enough about it to have the foggiest notion as to what to include. 66.234.222.23 (talk) 03:23, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

What's the point of the article? It's to help people find out something they didn't know. Stop removing articles from Wikipedia because you can't see any reason for them. I didn't know what this thing was, I looked it up, I found the answer. That's what Wikipedia is for! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.187.66 (talk) 00:43, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
