Meaning of "Jagged Little Pill"

Anyone know where the album title comes from?

It comes from the song "You learn" where it says "swallow it down, what a jagged little pill". 80.120.81.138 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 15:16, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

biggest selling debut album?

The article on Bat out of Hell by Meat Loaf claims Jagged Little Pill is the biggest selling debut album of all time -

[Bat Out of Hell] soon became the best-selling debut album of all time, and it remained so until the release of Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill in 1995.

Yet this article doesn't mention it. If it is true then it deserves a mention here, but if it isn't the Bat Out of Hell article needs updating. I don't know which it is. Thryduulf 21:13, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Soundscan

"It is the second best-selling album of the Soundscan era."

At the moment, Soundscan is a link that has no entry. What is it?

Someone should explain what this means if it is so important. Is it in the era of a particular record company? Is it a time-based era?

This has been clarified and expanded within the article. —Lowellian (reply) 11:20, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Reviews

The "Melody Maker" review link is messed up, and there should be a review here from the rolling stone magazine. I would change this stuff but I'm not sure how. QuirkyAndSuch (talk) 04:44, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

You Oughta Know

Dave Coulier has admitted that the song is about him, the reference (http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/6447) is on his own page. Should this be added instead of the "widely rumoured"? Mei 10:16, 5 October 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Meigwil (talkcontribs)

I would think that, as Coulier himself didn't write the song, what he says the song is about doesn't make a lick of difference. Like that Jay & Silent Bob promo, where Jay says the song is about himself. All it really tells us is that Coulier would like to think that the song is about him. While it is undoubtedly highly likely that the song is about him, we can't say that the song is 'confirmed' about him until one of the writers of the song actually steps forward and says so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.16.130.178 (talk) 19:03, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

I have made the change to suggest the likelihood that the song is about Coulier, but respecting Alanis' point of view on the subject, according to this article, dated after Coulier's: http://www2.canada.com/vancouversun/features/music/story.html?id=d9203cdb-73c0-4975-824e-ae182422d7ee —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.16.130.178 (talk) 19:22, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
