Identification edit

I have added a couple of paragraphs on the subject of species identification, primarily detailing the etching of Jacco Macaccco in the possession of the British Museum, comparing it to other depictions and making a case that the animal depicted is a Rhesus Macaque. The case for this identification seems to me to be quite strong. It would be good to have a copy of the British Museum image included in the Jacco Macacco page here on Wikipedia, but I must admit that I don't know how to add images. 2A02:C7C:5AED:8E00:ACA7:4A43:B6A5:A8AF (talk) 05:21, 15 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ashes edit

I've made a minor amendment to the lead paragraph of this article. The relevant sentence used to say that the ashes of Jacco Macacco 'are housed at the True Crime Museum in Hastings'. I've changed this to say that they are claimed to be housed there, which seems to be a more accurate representation of the reality of the situation. The reference to the museum in the lead paragraph seems a bit odd - ideally it should have been included much further down the article (i.e. in the section related to Jacco Macacco's death, where mention of the urn would normally belong). However I've left it in its current location for the time being in case anybody strongly disagrees. It would also be interesting/useful if the owner of this rather unlikely artefact, if he should happen to read this, could provide some detail as to the provenance of the urn, as there would seem to be grounds to doubt whether it is genuine. 2A02:C7C:5AED:8E00:ACA7:4A43:B6A5:A8AF (talk) 05:57, 15 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
