Spoof edit

I think this video deserves a wikipedia entry, especially since it seems to be starting a meme. Check out [1] which I'm not sure if it's the same couple or not, but they couldn't possibly have been married and divorced so quickly. I think since there is already a meme started for the original video, and given the media attention the original has already garnered, that it is notable enough to warrant an article. Should the spoof be mentioned on the article itself? FfejNS (talk) 12:26, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I doubt it would make it with it's own article be feel free to WP:BEBOLD, and make a new section on JK Wedding Entrance Dance named spoof. I do not think it is the same people. RP459 (talk) 13:03, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I also think it is entitled to it's own entry. Please don't delete 76.113.160.89 (talk) 04:28, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

WP:BADCHARTS edit

I would like to propose that we reach consensus as to if we should continue to reference iTunes in this article even though it is listed in WP:BADCHARTS. The reason I would like to propose that we continue to use it in this specific instance is that it is very relevant to this article with regards to the increase in sales of Forever on iTunes and the specific fact that it reached number one in sales significantly after its release because of this video. Contesting Prod edit

Just noticed a request to delete this page. I have no understanding why this should be. There is lots of notable coverage and it has had significant influence on other things as documented on the page under "Media", e.g. influence on an episode of the Office (each episode of which has a wiki page).

The justification for possible deletion says " and very few Internet memes have their own articles, especially not minor ones such as this". The quoted statement is demonstrably false. Almost every internet meme in the long List of Internet Phenomena has its own page in Wikipedia.

Because the concern note says the page would be deleted if the notice stays in place for 7 days, I have deleted it but include it here. If this is against netiquette then apologies.

{{dated prod}}

Ok I don't understand. I deleted the concern thingy just now, and that revision has been almost immediately undone without any reason given.

But note that the template says:

"You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason. However please explain why you object to the deletion, either in your edit summary or on the talk page. If this template is removed, it should not be replaced."

As far as I can tell I followed this exactly. I have given reasons above why I think this should not be deleted. According to the notice itself, the template should not be replaced.

So if you are going to put the template back, please do more than just undo my deletion of it without further comment. I am not going to get into an edit war, but I am going to delete this again because (as far as I can tell) I'm the one following the rules. If the article is going to be deleted it should presumably be through some more long winded discussion.

Comment I created this page and am contesting this prod. Please see the discussion here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/JK Wedding Entrance Dance where this article was nominated for AFD and the result was keep. I would contend that the arguments in favor of keeping this article are the same ones I would make if this went to AFD again... As such please do not put the PROD back on the page. If you wish to take this to AFD again feel free although it is less than 2 months since the last AFD, I have not seen an article go back so quickly before... Add Divorce Dance Video edit

I think we should add a reference to the JK Divorce Entrance Dance video produced by NYVideoProductions. It's a good-natured tribute produced by professionals and they really worked hard to keep the spirit of the moves created by each member of the wedding party in the original JK Wedding Entrance video. It's a good quality production, well-intentioned, and added another layer of attention and interest to the original. And can we periodically update the number of views for the original JK Wedding Entrance video -- currently at over 31 million...? Lady Margaret (talk) 02:58, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

See my comments in the above section with respect to the spoof, welcome to wikipedia, feel free to add to the page anyone can, also updating the counter can be done as well... RP459 (talk) 03:01, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
