"An episode of the satirical comedy show Bremner, Bird and Fortune parodied the advertisement with a sketch set in the near future, in which Lord Butler is searching for a copy of the Butler Report. The sketch ends with an image of the report being dropped onto a heap of previous government reports, and a voice-over saying: 'Good old yellowing pages'."

Really? I think I remember a sketch on Bremner Bird and Fortune which parodied the ad, but it was based on the HUTTON report. Maybe the re-cycled the joke. --85.92.179.243 17:41, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Another parody, in A Bit of Fry and Laurie: an old man comes into a shop wishing to order a copy of Yellow Pages. The shopkeeper says something like "you can have this one" but the customer insists that he has to order it, you see. So an order is placed. The customer's name: L. O. Pages. (From memory.) As a consequence of the adverts, there are a number of people (usually male) with the surname Hartley who have the nickname JR, regardless of whether their initials are actually J.R.

Probably not. I have an older male relative who really is called J R Hartley. He had to go ex-directory due to all the calls asking him if he was the J R Hartley. But this doesn't really meet the standards for Wikipedia inclusion either! 82.34.88.126 (talk) 08:38, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
