Plans to expand edit

I've been working on a proper article about JJ Isler (the first woman named to the Sailing World Hall of Fame). I discovered this Jennifer Isler page almost by accident, since she has never gone by Jennifer. So I'm wondering how to handle my new/expanded page compared to this page.

I thought I might create a new page called J. J. Isler and turn this page into a redirect - unless that's not allowed or I need somebody's permission. I believe there are bots that get angry if you blank a page, perceiving it as vandalism.

Alternatively and perhaps better, I could ask for a rename of this page to J. J. Isler. That would preserve the history, such as it is.

Any feedback? --MelanieN (talk) 04:09, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Later: I have expanded the article and will now move it to J. J. Isler. The article had been blanked a month or two ago, apparently as part of a massive copyvio investigation. I'm assuming the problem was those tables of Olympic medals, so I have not restored them. Anyone who knows how to do that without violating copyright, feel free. --MelanieN (talk) 02:08, 16 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
