I suggest the article be re-edited accordingly. I did a very "quick & dirty" expansion based on the BBC story, and the fact there was no mention of the predictions in the existing article, but it would be much better if another editor constructed a more coherent article based on a wider variety of sources. It looks as though this article conflates the father, J. Elfreth Watkins, Sr, a civil engineer (1852-1903), with John Elfreth Watkins, Jr (1875-??), a journalist and frequent contributor to Ladies' Home Journal. See Who's Who in America, Vol 5. Another source from Google Books is Futuring: The Exploration of the Future which states explicitly that the Watkins that wrote that article is the son of the curator of the U.S. National Museum. Does someone wish to split this article into two, or simply remove the sections about predicting the future? Agarvin (talk) 20:53, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
