Grading

I am experimenting with superscripts to annotate the listed building grading and/or link to the Images of England details for each building. My aim is to make the page easier to read. This may not look good in some browsers? Any comments? Oosoom 10:17, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Initially I was uncertain, but I appreciated the linkage to the IoE sites. A word of warning - some of the IoE text for sites in Worcestershire is inaccurate. The IoE entries rarely quote their sources. So information on the Birmingham and Wolverhampton IoE sites may need checking too.--DonBarton 19:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I, too, have found the IoE information to be tricky. It is certainly full of typing inaccuracies which cannot have been checked. I have also found two buildings with the wrong photo already. It is also a snapshot of around 2000/1, so more recent entries do not appear. Oosoom 20:11, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Article name

Wouldn't it be better for the article name to be his full name (or fore and surname) as opposed to his initials and surname? The vast majority of biographical article names are in this format. - Erebus555 (talk) 14:53, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't feel very strongly on the matter, but I thought that the generally recognised name was preferred over a full name. He seems always to be called by initials and surname in architecture books (I suspect this is generally true of Victorian professionals), and his son's biography states that he was never referred by by his real names. I think that references to him and his works should be to J. A. Chatwin, although a redirect to his full name would be acceptable. Oosoom ^Talk 22:30, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Timmy

There is an anoynmous editor who keeps posting the source: Tim Bridges "Birmingham's Victorian and Edwardian Architects" ed. Phillada Ballard ISBN 978 0 9556576 2 7 Claiming that J.A. Chatwin went by the name "Timmy". I have reverted this edit twice here and here for two reasons. First this doesn't sound right, it looks a lot like vandalism which doesn't necessarily mean that it is except that, second: I cannot verify the source. I looked here, checking all databases for ISBN, Title and Author name seperately and I could not find this book. Can anyone else verify this source? If it cannot be verified, it isn't notable and should not be added. Voiceofreason01 (talk) 03:19, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
