Talk:Islamic Republic News Agency

--Earle Rheaume 15:03, 29 July 2006 (UTC)As a concerned Canadian citizen, I have many questions that have gone unanswered from our Western media, politicians and "specialists" in the Israel vs Middle Eastern countries ongoing conflict.Reply

I have created an account with hopes of obtaining "the other sides view" of who, what, where, when, why, and how much have these events cost, in terms of death and destruction. (US dollars)

Several questions that come to the forefront are;

Where does the supply of "oil" for US consumption rate with Mid Eastern countries regarding these problems? Why?

Why has the United States supported Israel going back to the Shaw of Iran?

Why does the US continue to support the Israelly government with the most up to date and technically advanced military armaments?

It seems that Israel is hated by many Middle Eastern countries. Why is that so?

Why is it so difficult for Israel and the Middle Eastern countries to negotiate an agreement, that will provide and ensure peace?

I look forward to your answers.

Regards,

Earle Rheaume

Fair use rationale for Image:Irna logo.jpg edit

Image:Irna logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

This article needs work edit

This article lacks any cited material, and is poorly constructed. Furthermore, it does not have a thorough discussion of the nature of the media presented by the IRNA. It should probably be noted that the IRNA has little integrity as a "News Agency", as they only publish pro-Iran stories. Anyone agree with this?

I do. Even if the IRNA were credible as an independent news organization, there is evidence that this article was written by someone representing either IRNA or the government of Iran, as it refers to IRNA in first-person several times and states clearly subjective things (e.g., IRNA's objective to discredit enemies of the Islamic Revolution) as facts and without citations.

It seems ambiguous to me. It praises IRNA for various things , notably for it's promotion of non-Western news pools which contribute to avoiding western news dominance through the big transnational agencies, but it also accuses IRNA of political bias, notably in the last Iranian presidential elections. To me, that makes it difficult to judge the political sympathies of he entry author. ∼∼∼∼ jerry1wik —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jerry1wik (talkcontribs) 12:16, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

This article (as of Feb. 2012) is essentially a confusing and highly edited mess. It would seem that it has been subjected to self-serving, politically based propaganda and as such diminishes the otherwise higher quality informational articles found here at Wiki. Explore IRNA directly and judge for yourself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.212.205.53 (talk) 08:34, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
