Talk:Iran–Italy relations

Merge edit

The article feels very non-notable and seems to have little chance to ever grow beyond a stub. Is part of a series of articles about the foreign relations of Iran (and only Iran), all written by the same user User:Zereshk. Since no similar articles for, for example, Ethiopian-Canadian relations or Peruvian-Australian relations, I would like to propose this article be merged into the more general Foreign_relations_of_Iran. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.123.24.90 (talkcontribs) . Oppose The article should stay. I like many other people here appreciate very much the hard work that Mr. Zereshk puts into these articles. Khorshid 18:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Support The amount of hard work that a user contributes to Wikipedia, even if as impressive as Mr. Zereshk's, shouldn't be an argument for discussion about an article. In fact, the mere fact that he is the only user to have contributed to most of the Iran-X articles feels like an argument to merge since nobody else seems to find the topic notable. As to the existence of other similar articles, I looked at a few of the examples given and most of them actually had a lot to say about the relations between their countries... this one doesn't. I feel there has to be some minimum level of notability for a topic in order for an article to exist about it, and I have to agree with NickleShoe that this article doesn't measure up. I can understand the existence of Iran-Iraq relations and Iran-US relations, but if you start adding articles like Iran-Italy relations with this little to say about them, you may as well add Iran-Ghana relations and Iran-Peru relations with a stub saying "these countries come along just find; please expand this article" ;-) .
I'm removing the merge tag. This issue shouldnt even be up for vote: Contrary to what User:NickelShoe says, there are tons of specialized articles on foreign relations between two countries. Samples:
And surely, "having little chance to ever grow beyond a stub" is pure speculation. Just because the article is currently small doesnt warrant its deletion. After all, the US-Iran relations article started out the same way, as did all other articles.--Zereshk 20:08, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Soraya shah wife.jpg edit

Image:Soraya shah wife.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page edit

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
