Copyright info edit

I checked with the Inverness Highland Games web site and found that the main contact person for the Games is greynolds@invernesshighlandgames.com. I wrote to him (from my private account, not through Wikipedia - that way I would know for sure who I was writing to) and just received a reply which I would be glad to forward to any Wikipedia admin concerned with this copyright situation. In his reply, the writer acknowledged being the poster and identified himself as Gerry Reynolds who is the Secretary of the Inverness Games. He further states that he was in fact the original author of the material. JFPerry 21:17, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's fine, but does not seem to address the core need: we must either establish that this text is released under the WP:GFDL or delete the page. Once deleted, we could, of course, write up the facts in a replacement article without copying from any source. -Harmil 21:34, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The material is released. I, the creator of this work, hereby release it into the public domain. This applies worldwide.

In case this is not legally possible, I grant anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions.

OK, I've restored the text given that assertion from the author, but I've noted that the article needs cleanup, and especially needs to have some of its POV removed. -Harmil 22:04, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
