License edit

IAU is licensed by the California Bureau of Private postsecondary and vocational education. It is also approved by SEVIS. SEVIS as stringent guidelines for approval, thus i wouldn't conclude that they are a Diploma Mill. It's safe to remove reference to diploma mills as one shouldn't make such conclusions. --Mistro12 (talk) 04:31, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm actually very confused by your comment. License by the defunct BPPVE is not really very meaningful at this point. SEVIS is not an accrediting agency and your assertion that the listing means it is not a diploma mill carries no weight. SEVIS is not mentioned in the article nor is the phrase "diploms mill". So what relevance is your assertion that it should be removed? TallMagic (talk) 16:17, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

> BPPVE (http://www.bppve.ca.gov/) is again operational with effect from 1-1-2010. Since BPPVE has approved way back in July 2006, it is not wise to conclude that they are Diploma mill. Shyamsundar, INDIA —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.192.209.131 (talk) 15:56, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

The purpose of this page is to discuss improvements to the article. General comments or opinions regarding IAU are NOT relevant or useful here unless they are in regard to improving the article. See wp:talk. If I've misconstrued your comment then I apologize and request that you rephrase your suggestion as to how the article can be improved. I believe the best way is to mention that it is a State approved institution and dlink it from unrecognized universities so that these controversies can be avoided. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fred 00012 (talkcontribs) 08:00, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fred, the best way to mention what? What controversy are you referring to? TallMagic (talk) 19:33, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Was just curious to know if the university is approved by the new BPPE and also reflects in the database of BPPE why is the same not highlighted here. Dhingana (talk) 09:20, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think it is VERY much updated on BPPE website. Also there is a link from IAU website. As rightly said by Fred, it should be written as State approved institution and should be delinked from unrecognised Universities. Hey was just checking the swau.us website mentioned here but it does not seem to work. Secondly the BPPE link is provided in the the external link which ideally should be in the accreditation section since there is no mention of BPPE approval under the accreditation website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhingana (talkcontribs) 08:53, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

What Fred indicated before was very true, we must help to improve this page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cipack (talkcontribs) 16:13, 9 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
This is a silly argument as the article already makes clear it has BPPE approval. However, it is still not accredited. Doug Weller talk 15:50, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Cipack - See the comments posted below under the "International American University is a non-accredited Institution" heading. It clearly states the position of IAU. Audit Guy (talk) 02:43, 11 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

International American University is a non-accredited Institution. edit

Looking at the references, the IAU Website and the Wikipedia article, it is clear that International American University is a non-accredited Institution.

Thank you

Yes, that is correct. It is unaccredited. IAU is a state licensed school in California. Audit Guy (talk) 09:34, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

It seems IAU has recived full approval from the new BPPE. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.4.36.9 (talk) 13:17, 28 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Approval by the BPPE does not constitute accreditation. BPPE approval is basically State licensing. At present IAU does not have any accreditation recognized by the US Department Of Education or CHEA. Audit Guy (talk) 03:00, 29 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notability? edit

The references here seemed mostly from IAU affiliated pages. A cursory google search reveals few objective sources on this school on my end. Dawkin Verbier (talk) 15:11, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
