Feb 2016 move edit

(cur | prev) 00:14, 3 February 2016‎ GeoffreyT2000 (talk | contribs)‎ . . (36 bytes) (+36)‎ . . (GeoffreyT2000 moved page Incite (band) to Incite: Replacing deleted redirect to deleted article per AfD.) (thank)

This perhaps wasn't a good idea, Incite (disambiguation) still needed. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:00, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 30 January 2017 edit

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Move as proposed. There is clear consensus that the band is not the primary topic of the term "Incite". However, there's no consensus that Incitement, which as noted only "covers a narrow aspect of the topic" of the dictionary meaning of incitement (the UK legal sense), is primary. As such, the dab page will move to the base name Incite. Cúchullain t/c 18:21, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

– No primary topic now that the disambiguation page has been created. GeoffreyT2000 (talk, contribs) 05:44, 30 January 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. -- Tavix (talk) 14:36, 8 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • Redirect to Incitement. Clear primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:02, 3 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support first move but redirect Incite to Incitement per Necrothesp. Oppose second move, i.e. keep dab page at Incite (disambiguation). feminist 15:23, 7 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support first move, can see advantages both for and against redirecting to incitement. Either way it's an improvement on being sent to the band. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:18, 8 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support both moves in the nomination. Oppose redirecting incite to incitement. The incitement article only covers a narrow aspect of the topic; better to direct to a DAB page with the Wiktionary link. —  AjaxSmack  01:59, 10 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support both moves. Making the noun Incitement primarytopic for the verb incite when it has other noun meanings seems backwards. Dicklyon (talk) 05:07, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
