Avenue A edit

I don't know if Google Maps counts as a reputable source, but its maps of Saskatoon have recently started labelling a previously unnamed service road on the west side of Idylwyld between 40th A Street and Circle Drive as Avenue A North. I haven't seen this indicated on any of the current official maps on the City of Saskatoon website and there are no street signs in evidence on Street View. Just putting this out there in case anyone has additional info. 23skidoo (talk) 15:21, 10 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • On a related topic, I removed what I think was intended to be a hidden comment regarding Avenue Z and Witney Avenue; all this is irrelevant to Idylwyld Drive so I took it out. It was also a statement of opinion; from my research Witney was never known as Avenue Z so there's no "popular opinion", really. There was an Avenue Z for a time on maps of what is now Southwest Industrial and it did exist - a street sign was at its intersection with 11th Street for many years, but the roadway was removed when the Intercontinental Packers plant expanded its parking lot in the mid-1980s. Today, of course, the plant and its parking lot are long gone, replaced by the new interchange with Circle Drive. The roadway was roughly where Dawes Avenue is now. Again, though, this is irrelevant to discussing Idylwyld itself. 23skidoo (talk) 15:28, 10 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
