Unreliable Source edit
Unfortunately, most of this article seems to have been copied and pasted from the polemic and bigoted Salafi website http://www.thenoblequran.com/. In addition to the site being of a partisan nature, it also contains clear lies regarding the subject. For example, the specific article (http://www.thenoblequran.com/sps/sp.cfm?subsecID=SRH04&articleID=SRH040003&articlePages=1) claims that Khatib al-Baghdadi was a fan of his whereas the Encyclopedia of Islam states that "Ibn Batta was severely attacked by al-Khatib al-Baghdadi".[1] I will therefore remove all content copied from this site.
