Rewrite of article in response to possible copyright infringement tag edit
I've created a new version of this page which does not paraphrase the source so closely. The page is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:IEEE_registration_authority/Temp. If this is still not good enough I'll have to leave it up to someone else to write the article. I do believe that there should be an article here, though, since someone may want to know what the registration authority is without wading through another long article somewhere. --mlewis000 21:57, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'd explicitly mention some of the other namespaces for which it's a registrar, e.g. EtherType values (some of the more obscure ones could be left out, but EtherType values are sufficiently important that I'd mention them). I'd leave the description of "registration" out, or just use less formal language. Guy Harris 22:15, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
