Talk:I've Got a Feeling

I deleted reference to "I've Got A Feeling" being partly inspired by the Beatles' song "Watching Rainbows". "Watching Rainbows" was a one-off jam the Beatles performed on 14 January 1969 at Twickenham Studios, London, during rehearsals for the Let It Be album. It is very loosely based on the same chord progression as "I've Got A Feeling".

"I've Got A Feeling" had been performed at those same rehearsals on 2 January, 3 January, 6 January, 7 January, 8 January, 9 January, and 10 January 1969 and had taken its finished form by the time the "Watching Rainbows" performance occurred. Mayor of awesometown (talk) 02:59, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

@PurpleChez: Adding that would require a reliable source. And it must be notable. He does a lot of songs in his live performances. Singling out one song is not notable. Sundayclose (talk) 21:46, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. For the 2016 tour it's a pretty consistent set list...the show I saw in Hershey followed the internet listings point by point. There are, I think, 37 or 38 numbers in his current set. (Which was pretty impressive for a 74 year old guy...) As for notability, I've seen countless articles about individual songs that included detailed information about first performed live, last performed live, not played live since the '73 tour, etc., along with sometimes dozens of highly non-notable covers. But I also understand that that doesn't mean that those articles are in line with wikipedia policies either. And thanks again for such a rapid response.... Not to belabor the point, but I picked a random song - The Grateful Dead's China Cat Sunflower - the article includes detailed and very well written information about the song's history in live performances by the band. And if anybody did a lot of songs in their live performances, it was the GD....supposedly never played the same set list twice....I don't think it's a matter of China Cat Sunflower being singled out but, rather, someone choosing to source reliable information. @PurpleChez: Thanks for responding. It's a matter of WP:WEIGHT and WP:RECENT. If there is something (with a good source) that makes this song stand out in his playlist, it might be more worthy of mention than the hundreds of other songs he has performed live. If this song is one of many that are added and rotated in and out of his performances over many years of performing, that doesn't help make a case for notability.
