Comments or Annotations? edit

I heard an interview on CBC today, in which Hypothes.is was described not as a commenting method, but as an annotation method. The difference is that with annotation, you are tying the contribution explicitly to a particular selection of the original document, which may be a sentence, or a region of an image, etc. Yet this article refers to it more as a commenting method, sort of like a client-controlled Disqus. "As of December 2017, Hypothes.is is the 113,770th most popular site on the Internet according to Alexa.com.[7]" Is this really useful?

If it is important, it should be in a template for all internet sites and also the ranking from google and ...
