  • "the first such storm on record to affect those areas." so, prior to 1966 no storm ever affected the Bahamas, Caribbean, Florida, and Mexico. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
    • Correct. Inez was the first to affect all of those areas. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:30, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "since the 1920s" which storm in the twenties? YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
    • The newspaper didn't say. If I had to guess, they actually meant a hurricane in 1935 that killed thousands. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:30, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "As many as 1,000 people were killed" No need for the first three words IMO, they don't add any value. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
    • But it wasn't exactly 1,000, since Haiti's total is unknown. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:30, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "There, 125,000 people were forced to evacuate, and there were three deaths and $20 million in damage." I think you are entering a phase where you say "there" a zillion times, just change one to "throughout the island" or something like that. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "84,000 peopl" don't start a sentence with a number. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • " tropical depression in the annual tropical cyclone summary on September 18. " annual? do you mean daily? YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "a Category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale." a Category 3 what? A typhoon? YE Pacific Hurricane
    • Given the article is on Hurricane Inez, and there's a link, I don't think I have to specify that it was clearly a volcano :P --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:30, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • " The eye emerged into the Windward Passage near Léogâne, although severely weakened; the pressure rose to 987 mbar (29.1 inHg),[3] and the winds decreased to 90 mph (150 km/h) over land." I'd do one or two things here, split up the sentences and/or move the "over land" to before the semicolon. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Throughout the country, Inez killed about 100 people,[" why is this not exact? Did people go IDK how many ppl died do to Inez, let's just say 100. If they did, I understand. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
    • Dominican Republic was pretty poor back then, so they didn't have an exact total. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:30, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Inez was considered a "dry hurricane" oxymoron. What is a "dry hurricane"? One with little rain and a lot of wind? YE Pacific Hurricane
    • Yea, it had much less rain than usual, and, as for the rest of the sentence, that led to more salt spray than usual. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:30, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "The Dominican Republic Air Force" link it if it has an article? YE Pacific Hurricane 04:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well-written:

(a) the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct; and
(b) it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.[1]
  • Verifiable with no original research:
  •

    (a) it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline;
    (b) reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose);[2] and
    (c) it contains no original research.
  • Broad in its coverage:
  •

    (a) it addresses the main aspects of the topic;[3] and
    (b) it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
  • Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
  •

  • Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
  • [4]

  • Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
  • [5]

    (a) media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content; and
    (b) media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.[6]

    1. ^ Compliance with other aspects of the Manual of Style, or the Manual of Style mainpage, is not required for good articles.
    2. ^ Either parenthetical references or footnotes can be used for in-line citations, but not both in the same article.
    3. ^ This requirement is significantly weaker than the "comprehensiveness" required of featured articles; it allows shorter articles, articles that do not cover every major fact or detail, and overviews of large topics.
    4. ^ Vandalism reversions, proposals to split or merge content, good faith improvements to the page (such as copy editing), and changes based on reviewers' suggestions do not apply. Nominations for articles that are unstable because of constructive editing should be placed on hold.
    5. ^ Other media, such as video and sound clips, are also covered by this criterion.
    6. ^ The presence of images is not, in itself, a requirement. However, if images (or other media) with acceptable copyright status are appropriate and readily available, then some such images should be provided.
