Spam edit

This article receives an unusual lot of spam, also on other wikis. I cleared it today, and it was cleared yesterday by another user. Please watch. /SvNH 22:12, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please take a detailed look at the links first before simply deleting them all. Some of them are real objectibe, non-profit information portals or just picture books. Why shouldn't those links kept as external links? Some of the links really helped in planning my first vacation in Hurghada this April. /Unregistered user 23:41, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, one non-profit information portal in particular... /SvNH 23:54, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear SvNH,

Maybe it would be a good idea if you tell us which ones are the good links then and which ones the bad. I think you are not very objective here. Certainly the Hurghada Information Net is very objective since it contains information that has not been paid for to be included. There is no other site about Hurghada that shows you all the restaurants, hotels, hospitals, doctors, busstations, postoffices, banks etc. with information about departure times, opening times and on and on and on. You do not find a booking portal of any kind here nor a the users asked to contribute financially. Currently 'The Hurghada Information Net' is a free service and is financed privately (and 3 dollars every month from googleads)

I am starting to believe you (SvNH) are following your own agenda. The whole point of a platform like Wikipedia is to provide information from all kinds of different sources which you (SvNH) are somehow missing. The people using this platform to gain information are certainly not stupid and should be allowed to make up their own mind if they want to click a link or not.

So again I am asking you to stop being the link police here because you must not forget that some of the people placing links here are also contributors to the articles and this is, of course, what this platform needs...local people providing local information. Without us this platform is dead...

Y'all have a great day now

Dear BigAndyW, external links posted across many wikis by unregistered users with no other edits are considered spam by definition, and will of course be deleted. /SvNH 17:22, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear SvNH,

first of all i am registered, second of all it is surely not your place to decide what links are included here or not, thirdly have i also made edits on the page (corrected wrong and out of date info) which you have destroyed several times now. What is your problem???? Do you really think that this is your personal sandbox in which you can play out your little dictator syndrome.

Do you really believe that the users here cannot make up their own mind what link they want to click.

Put the links back and leave them alone, otherwise i will start action against you.

Go and get a life.

very shallow article edit

guys this article is very shallow, it doesn't even have real and decent photos of Hurghada. Aren't there any Hurghada residents who have more realistic and detailed information about this city? i live in Egypt and i visit hurghada at least twice a year because my husband is from there and i certainly believe that who wrote this information is no doubt a non-Egyptian tourist or at best a foreign resident —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.153.254.144 (talk) 00:32, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

travel warnings edit

governments consider Egypt a dangerous destination. Currently I am in Hurghada and the only problem is that there are no excursions to cities like Cairo that are very far away anyway Rbakels (talk) 11:26, 13 November 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbakels (talkcontribs) 11:14, 13 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
